LTAP – October 27 & 28

Be part of the first VIRTUAL conference for Notes developers, administrators and professionals.   This is a free conference and you don’t have to ask for budget approval.   You and your colleagues can attend the conference from your office.

Why a virtual conference?

  • no travel
  • no hotel
  • no missed work (as long as you work a couple extra hours on Mon, Tues and Fri)
  • no budget (we know you can’t ask for a trip to a conference with our current economy)
  • Lotus Notes is NOT dead
  • education and industry events are important to improve your skills and knowledge.  Let’s get to work!

You may have never attended a virtual conference before.  Here is some information to explain how it works.

What is the LTAP Virtual Conference?
LTAP is the first VIRTUAL Lotus Technical and Professional users’ conference.  Many Notes professionals, users, developers, administrators, managers and executives find it difficult to take one or two full days off work to attend local Notes User Group meetings.  And most don’t have budgets to attend a conference like Lotusphere.   LTAP provides the opportunity for these Notes professionals to attend virtual sessions from well known industry professionals, ask the presenters questions, visit a virtual product showcase where vendors have virtual booths that they staff live, watch live demos at the booths and mingle online with other Notes community members.  Since attendees can join the conference from their office, more people will be able to attend and participate than ever before.

How does a virtual conference work?
With the exception of physically being present at a conference, the conference has the same elements: sessions and tracks, vendor booths, raffles and prizes, and community collaboration.   Speakers provide valuable information in their presentations and demonstrations while taking questions (via chat text) from attendees.   Vendors’ virtual booths are staffed with live team members to answer questions and to provide live product demos.  These booths can be setup with literature, self running promo/demo videos and links to the vendors’ websites.

No more conference bags filled with literature and too big for your luggage.
Attendees will have a virtual briefcase that saves your chat conversations with vendors, downloads and organizes product literature from the vendors booths, automatically tracks your participation in prize raffles.   Your briefcase will also store business cards that are given to you by other attendees and vendors.

What is the user experience like?
Attendees will plan their schedule so they can make it to all the sessions that are important to them.   In between sessions attendees can join group chats to share information, ideas, success stories or talk about the MLB World Series.   A virtual product showcase will also be open for attendees to discover Notes applications, solutions and services.

What is a virtual booth?  What can you do at the booth?
The virtual booth is amazing.   You can do everything you do at a live event except give a physical handshake and get tired feet walking to all the booths.  Here is what you can do at your virtual booth:

-   You can use a webcam and mic to interact live with a staff member at the booth
-    You can download product literature
-   You can text chat with a group of attendees that are currently at the same booth
-   You can watch videos that the vendor has available
-   You can “pickup” the staff member’s business card and add it to your breifcase
-   You can participate in prize drawings
-    You WILL find products and solutions that are needed for your organization!
